Dyslexia Interventions and Programmes (1:1)

Duration: 3 days (10am—3.30pm) completed by attending 1 day per week for 3 weeks

Overview at a Glance

This is an optional extra unit from the  Accredited Level 2 Award.

It is designed to enable practitioners to have a greater understanding of   dyslexia  awareness screening procedures and practical solutions.

Who is it suitable for? This accredited level 2 Programme is suitable for staff that support pupils in the   primary school, including Teaching Assistants, Teachers and SENCos. It is suitable for those who want to become more dyslexia aware, gain a greater understanding of readily available dyslexia screening tools and how to practically support pupils with dyslexia in the classroom. An additional unit is available on Practical Solutions (Interventions and Programmes) for those who aim to be offering further additional support to those with dyslexia.

OPTIONAL Module 4, Day 4 Dyslexia Programmes and Interventions

This unit will examine a variety of Dyslexia Programmes that are readily available to school staff and the key elements that are included in programmes of support for Dyslexic Learners: Phonic Structured, Cumulative and Multisensory. It will also examine an ICT Programme designed for pupils with Dyslexia. It is aimed to provide School Staff who may be providing some additional support to pupils, an understanding of some of the readily available programmes and the session will give learners the chance to explore some of these interventions and resources.
